Hopefully this will only be a quick fix. I have installed os and an part way through the configuration process. I have found myself on the recieving end of an error with explanation in any doco that i have come accross. Recieving the following error during web install: osCommerce Configuration The following error has occurred: The configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set. Please perform the following actions: * cd /var/www/html/catalog/includes/ * touch configure.php * chmod 706 configure.php * cd /var/www/html/catalog/admin/includes/ * touch configure.php * chmod 706 configure.php If chmod 706 does not work, please try chmod 777. I have set the permittions on ALL folders and file to be, Read Write Execute. I am still having problems with this error. If any of you kind people are able to help it would be most appresheated

If it is a Windows server try setting the file permissions via your hosting control panel file manager, or via ssh. Failing that, get your hosting company to set them for you. Vger

Vger <{POST_SNAPBACK}> thanks for the prompt reply I am 90% sure that this is a unix server. However i will call my ISP to find out about your question.
Guest Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Thanks for the guidance i have swoped FTP clients. I was using zs FTP and this reads the permissions incorrectly. i am now using Cute FTP. Thanks Again. :thumbsup:
