changing default text on index.php

I want to change the default main body text in the catalog/index.php file and add some of my own. Its the text that talks about the error messages in pink, etc.

 

The trouble is I can't find where to edit! I'm guessing it would be in an included file, but which one?

For the most part, all of the text in the shop is located in the includes/languages directory. The text you are talking about is in includes/languages/english/index.php. Look for

define('TEXT_MAIN', 'This is a default setup of the osCommerce project

As a suggestion, if you keep a backup copy of your shop files on your computer, you can search them really fast when you have a problem such as this. Plus, you will always have a backup for emergencies.
