How would I go about troubleshooting this?

Ok, here's the deal. I've got an shop online that will be selling downloadable multimedia (web templates, audio samples, etc.) There's no shipping of physical product ever involved.

 

I'm basically at the stage where I'm ready to start uploading all the product, but I can't seem to complete a test or live CC transaction with the downloadable link popping up. Everything seems to be working during the checkout process (at least no visible errors), but when it completes (in Live or Test mode), it says:

 

Your order has been successfully processed!

You can view your order history by going to the 'My Account' page and by clicking on 'History'. Please direct any questions you have to the store owner.

I'm receiving the email sent from my store as well as an Authorize.net Auto-Receipt. Both of which state the the transaction was successful. Yet I'm getting no link popping up for the download to start.

 

Authorize.net and my store's admin are both listing the order as "pending". Perhaps because the downloadable link hasn't popped up? Or because there's a problem with my payment setup? I've used the search function and scoured other threads and can't get to the bottom of this.

 

Here's a quick rundown of my setup and what I've done:

-Newest version of osC

-Downloadable products installed

-Newest Authorize.net Consolidated 1.7 contrib installed with cURL fix

-Merchant Account with WellsFargo setup properly

-Hosting company has latest version of cURL installed

-Authorize.net merchant settings setup (not in test mode and I've obtained the transaction key)

-Auth.net module has been reinstalled and in the osC admin and the appropriate info has been entered: pHp compiled, cURL path, production mode, transaction key, etc.

-A .zip file of the downloadable test product in the download folder with proper permissions set

-I've purchased and properly installed a SSL Certificate from SSL.com

 

Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot this would be so much appreciated!

"Virtual" products and the associated download links will only appear AFTER you have completed the order and set the status from pending to delivered/completed.

 

You might also want to consider installing the Download Controller contribution that will give you more control.

Hmm... I'm not quite understanding this. I have to manually set the status from pending to completed in order fo the download link to appear? I'm using the AIM version of Auth.net and need it to post the download link as soon as the credit card is accepted.

 

As far as the Download Controller... I think I have that already, but I'm not sure... My options in admin under Configuration/Download are:

-Enable Download

-Download by redirect

-Expiry delay (days)

-Max # of downloads

-Downloads Controller update Status Value

-Downloads Controller Download on Hold message

-Downloads Controller Order Status Value

 

I am seeing that there are three download related contributions available: Downloads Controller v5.2 -MS1, Download Controller, and Download Page for Pending Downloads... do I need one of those?

If your payment processor sets the order to a status of pending, then yes it's up to you to "complete/delivered" the product. If you are charging the customer's credit card (not just authorizing payment) then set the appropriate setting in that payment processor to set the order to deleivered. Otherwise you'll need to manually set the order status after you recieve payment from your customer.

 

Sorry but if you don't know what contribution you have installed for the Controller I can't help on that one.

When you say "payment processor", I'm assuming your speaking of my authorize.net merchant account. Any ideas as to where I make the appropriate change from 'authorize' to 'authorize and charge' on that website? The only thing I see is a place to void the approved/pending transaction.

 

Sorry but if you don't know what contribution you have installed for the Controller I can't help on that one.

 

Ok.. I don't think I have the one that you linked below. I'm going to install that and see how I get on. :)

Ok, I've run into a problem installing this. It seems that in order for me to install this contribution, I need to overwrite checkout_process.php. That file was previously modified during the Authorize.net Cons. 1.7 installation.

 

What's the best way to approach this? Can I combine the 2 files together? How do I know what order things need to be in?

It appears that only one section of the code from the Controller contribution was modified in checkout_process.php per the README file. You'll probably need to start with the authorize.net version (more recent) and add the differences you see between the two files. There is no shortcut here when you are combining contributions. Just make sure you back your version before beginning the "journey".

I've tried combining the 2 files with no success. Besides just adding the commented chunk of code for the download controller itself, there is indeed some other pieces of code that have differences and I have no idea what should be omitted, altered, or what order this stuff belongs in...

 

Since this thread has taken a turn toward being solely contribution related, I'll post a new thread in that forum.
