webination Posted December 12, 2004 Posted December 12, 2004 I have a fairly urgent need to find best practises. We process al our payements through internet secure. This can creat some problems for us. When customers process payment all they get is the amount processed and not information on what they ordered. In order to get order information they need to click on a button on the internet secure site labeled "click here to complet payment". This sends them back to our site and moves what they have ordered out of their shopping cart and in to the orders table in the databse. Many customers fail to click on this buttons others when they click on the button retun to our site but are no longer logged in so their shopping cart is not "ckecked out". The internet secure people say the best solution is to use an export script. Has anyone tried this and can they give me some best practises on this. Also I need to recover the data in the shopping carts of the people whos orderes did not process correctly. Where is this information? how can I recover this? is there a temp file I can use? Thanks
iwik Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 You could install the master password contribution then login using your customer's email address and then checkout their cart again, using cheque/money order or C.O.D as the payment method. That will move their items from the shopping cart to the order table.
♥Vger Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 The internet secure people say the best solution is to use an export script The best solution is for the 'internet secure' people to get up off their butts and incorporate an 'auto-return' feature into their system, so that their customers don't have to do their job for them. If not - there are plenty of other payment providers out there who do use such a system. Vger
