osCommerce Best Sites Awards

Perhaps a little feedback on the thought of having a kind of a Academy Awards for OSC sites. As of late I have been seeing some very nice implementations that deserve some kind of recognition, other than great sales. Just so that we don't give a big award to just one site, we could break it down in categories.

Best Overall

Best Graphic

Best Implementation

Best User Friendly

and so on...

I always hear a lot about personal favorites. Hows about showing them off.

I think this one should go into a class of its own - Flash integrated osC. Takes a bit of getting used to, but it does look nice, not sure if this kind of approach is the way forward.

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON

I do not use the responsive bootstrap version since i coded my responsive version earlier, but i have bought every 28d of code package to support burts effort and keep this forum alive (albeit more like on life support).

So if you are still here ? What are you waiting for ?!

Find the most frequent unique errors to fix:

I think this is a great idea. Broken down into different categories sounds best to me. Then an "overall" winner could be chosen by counting up the votes of the different categories, and the person with the highest overall score would get the claim of best overall site.

Then what about entry? Could you enter your own site, or would somebody have to nominate your site for entry? I'm leaning more towards that somebody has to nominate your site for consideration. Otherwise, it would to me that most people would just be entering their own site.

Since I get really sick of flash advertising, I have installed a Flash Blocking extension to Firefox. Every time flash wants to run in a webpage, I have to click on it. 99% of the time, that's just fine, as it's just blocking advertisements.

Unfortunately, that also means that on this site (and playhousedisney.com as well) I have to click 2-3 times extra just to see the intended content.

Just thought you'd like to know that there are some folks out there that don't want to see flash everywhere. We may be few and far between, but we're around.

It does look nice, though!
