ssl certificate

Hello world,

 

I'm in the process of ssl-izing my shop, and would like to see if I forgot a step. It's an MS2, on my own dedicated server, in an apache virtual host. Steps :

 

- configure a specific ip address to the virtual host

- order an ssl certificate

- configure apache-ssl

- activate ssl in osCommerce

 

Are all important steps listed ?

 

About the ssl certificate, there seems to be a plethora of providers, with prices ranging from 1 to 10. Is there any reason to not trust cheap ones ? Different strengths ? Different qualities ? Compatibilities ? How can one choose ? Do you have advices on providers to avoid ? Or "good" providers ?
