Either you do not have the correct database name or you have not assigned the user to your database in your hosting control panel. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
blklotus Posted December 9, 2004 Author Posted December 9, 2004 rename it back to admin and password protect it from your webhost cpanel or there is a contribution to assist you if you need it. hope that helps. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Greetings, I already renamed it back to admin, and protected it, but after I login, it gives the same error, It is something with the database, or some configuration that is not correctly assign, because the error for the admin that it gives is something like: 1046 - No Database Selected select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration [TEP STOP] But... How can the database not being selected, if the rest of the site is working? Well your catalog did not load for me at all but the error message for the admin means you have a problem with the database settings in your admin configure.php file. Either you do not have the correct database name or you have not assigned the user to your database in your hosting control panel. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Very strange it did not load for you, probably, because the server was down due to hardware problems, for almost 3 hours. Try again please. The error, well, the database name is correct, the user is assign with ALL atributtes in CPanel. If the user or the database were wrong, the main page wouldn't load at all, but in this case, it did. Very strange, but thanks for the reply :D I will install everything from the begining later, because this is just for testing, I don't need this right now, but if someone can find some kind of solution, I apreciate!
♥Vger Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 In your admin/includes/configure.php file, close to the bottom, where it says define('DB_DATABASE', '*******'); and where I have put the stars, it should have the name of your database. It looks as though there is no name in there. This is a different configure.php file to the one which controls your website, so your website would not be affected if the database name is in that configure.php file - includes/configure.php Vger
