How do I get my pictures to enlarge when clicked?

Hi All,

 

I am a complete noobie at this, please be gentle.

 

When someone clicks on my images to enlarge them and get a better look, they do no enlarge by much. I can't see anything in the admin features to increase this size of the enlarged pics. Cant seem to find any info on the forums either. Can anyone help me?

My images are already pretty large in in size. Isn't the actual size of the image supposed to appear when someone clicks 'click to enlarge'? This isnt happening, its only increasing in size by a little bit.
