theduck Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 Hello Everyone Some programmers are setup osCommerce for one of my websites. They are teling that osCommerce does not support Mozilla or Netscape. They also tell me that there are items on both the frontend and admin that wont work in Mozilla. Is that true, and if it is what things wont work in Mozilla? I am more concerned about the frontend. I looked all over the website to see if there was any docs on the subject but could not find any. Thanks for your help. Richie

Chris Dunning Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 Fire your programmers. Find someone who: A. Won't BS you about your shop. B. Understands the importance of designing sites that work with more than just IE. osCommerce in its default setup works just fine with Mozilla. I use it daily. It's possible that they are installing something that won't - but they shouldn't. Even if that only locks out 5% of the market, do you really want to lose 5% of possible sales? Guest Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 It's possible that some of the coding that *they* did doesn't work with non-IE browsers. If that's true, make them recode it so that it does. Apparently they haven't seen any of the numerous articles recently about non-IE browers (Firefox specifically) gaining market share. Do you really want to alienate those potential customers? -jared
