Guest Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 hello i have had a look at the KBase but cant see to find any help. I just installed last night fixed a cache error, but was wondering what to do with these errors Warning: Installation directory exists at: /home/xxxxxx/public_html/catalog/install. Please remove this directory for security reasons. Where would i move this to. also Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/xxxxxx/public_html/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. Changed the permissions on this file but seem to have the same warning when i refresh the page. And as i set this up last night went ot bed was trying to figure out how to get to the blue controll panel that i could get to last night after the screen came up with configure and administration tool as when i log into my server i get their control panel how do i get to the blue screened control panel the one i had last night. Also this got me to the oscommerce page where i could configure problems on the osC page thanxs anyone who can help i try to use the forums and knowledge base as much to sort it out but damn i wish i wasnt on slow 56k modem it sux. And thanxs to all those that have helped out so far much appreciated ( sorry if this doesnt make sense
ozcsys Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 You do not need to move it but remove it or rename it. Either delete the folder or give it another name other than install. You are better off deleting it as you do not need it any longer. On the two configure.php files you need to change the permissions to 444 if you can or if not 644. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
