I need some help. I am completely lost with this oscommerce program. I went to my admin area and put in all the settings and configurations. Then I went to my website and put a link in to the store, and all I get is a parent directory when it comes up. Then when I do go into the directory for the store, the store is not configured for me, it is still in demo mode? What am I doing wrong, and where can I go to get a "manual" on doing all this. I also see everyone's stores customized with their own logos and banners...where is this done.

I cant offer you any practical advice here, but I found reading thru the forums and the knowledge base was a great learning.

We got so frustrated with not being able to do it then I read between the lines (after posting on here, they suggested we use FTP program, so we downloaded one) and hey presto the floodgates opened up, still having "logic" problems understanding PHP programming, but everyone has been really patient on here.

Go and read thru new posts as they somestimes will save hours trying to find the right thing

Having a look at the My Store forum is also a good idea - it will give you ideas and further tips on how to make your store more 'you' and less 'demo'.

There's also some good documentation around about how to customise your stores, try seraching in google for 'Oscommerce Books'.
