Are there any "Tips & Tricks" type posts?

I just installed OS Commerce from my cpanel with fantastico. I am a php newbie but am getting the hang of changing stuff around... taking it slow.

 

What I wanted to know is if there are any posts on here or elsewhere that outline "The top things to change with a new installation". I am sure all the veterans have learned a few things that may seem obvious that they can pass along.

 

If there is not; please feel free to post your list here. :thumbsup: For the guys and gals that have been around php and oscommerce for a while what are the things you change or contributions you install first before doing anything else when you set up a store?

best thing to do is search/read in the tips and tricks threads, look at the 'my store' thread to see what people have done with their sites, etc.

Well, Logo at top.

Delete menu's you don't wan't.

Password-Protect admin area with contribution.

Change Colors in CSS to make it like you wan't it.

 

And also, i recommend downloading STS Contrib, Helps ALOT in the designing part if your a newbie like me :)

WOW, that is an awesome document and should be stickied if possible. I have a much much much better understanding of OSC and what needs to be done out of the gate.
