fatal error, application_top.php

hi my name's floyd.

 

i'm having an error pertaining to something in either my 'admin/index.php' file or my 'admin/includes/application_top.php' file.

 

please check out the error message i get when trying to get to my admin panel:

i've searched and found scattered non-effective info.. just trying to get a definitive answer here.

yes, the file exists. what chmod setting do i need? i've tried 706 and 777.

Either of those settings should be fine. When I follow the link you provided I don't get any error message, because the page doesn't load at all, it just hangs - trying to load but unable to.

 

What type of server is it? If it's Windows and you tried changing the permissions via FTP then that won't work. It will appear to work, but won't actually do anything. You can try altering permissions via the File Manager in your web hosting control panel.

 

Just checked your domain, and I can't get your site at all, not the 'admin' nor the 'catalog'

my host rebooted the server at that time or something, or so their own homepage indicates. it's up now.

it's a redhat server and yes, i did it through ftp. but is this an issue on a linux server?
