Help. file not writeable

Hello, i'm new :-"

 

I'm trying to change my banner. Its giving me an error, file not writeable

 

using 2.2 ms2

 

any suggestions? or what to do.

The permissions need to be changed on it most likely. You can do this from CPanel if you are using it or most ftp programs will allow you to do it. It should be set to 644.

I did that and nothing.

That's a directory in admin/includes/images. Set it to 755.

I had them put that number in there and still giving me the errors.

 

Error: Destination not writeable.

Error: Graphs directory is not writeable

The images directory it is in also has to have writeable permissions. Other than that, I cannot think of why it is failing. Is the banner being saved to some other directory? Perhaps try setting all permissios to 777 and see if it works. It should since this is full access. If it does, tehn go back and change them one at a time till it fails. Just write down what they were beforehand snce they are different. If it still fails the there must be something wrong with your server. Tell your host that you cannot write to a directory and ask them to test it (probably should do this first).
