switching oscommerce installation/design.

Hi there,

 

I have just installed a new copy of oscommerce and redesigned it for a friend, however, i am trying to use the same products, images & database (inculding members). I copied the image folder across to the new installation and also the configure.php file after making the appropriate changes.

 

It appeared to work at first but then i noticed that 60% of the products were missing and the members were not listed in the new site? All remains as normal in the old site.

Did you, after running the 'install' procedure on the new website, delete the database that was set up by the installation procedure and replace it with a copy of the database from the original site?

I installed oscommerce through an auto install script held on my server, it creates the database for me, all i did was change the configure.php file to point to my other original database, i take it that this will not work properly??? If not, could you please let me know what to do?
