armanbohn Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 Hello, I have been setting up my store to use PayPal. I had a customer purchase using an echeck and PayPal sent me notification of the payment. I never received an email from my oscommerce store. I added the payapal ipn package from oscommerce and tested it out myself and once again, I received notification from PayPal but not from oscommerce (my store). With the IPN I got flooded with emails and I'm not sure how to get rid of them. There are a number of configuration settings in the IPN Module and I believe I have them set correctly. My email address is correct in the configuration of the site.... What's happening with this set up? I have read the FAQ on the IPN but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone help? -Arman
♥Vger Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 To get copies of the orders the customer places you must add your e-mail address to 'Send Extra Order E-maisl' under Configuration in your osCommerce control panel. If you are getting flooded with multiple copies of the same e-mails are you on Broadband? Either cable or dsl broadband is apt to do this. It works so fast that it doesn't register on the server that you have downloaded the e-mail. Vger

I read on the PayPal IPN FAQ that you get extra email but it's not clear how to disable them.... Shouldn't oscommerce send me an invoice for the orer placed? Why should I have to send a extra email (as in "send extra order email to " tab in the config settings?
armanbohn Posted December 5, 2004 Author Posted December 5, 2004 oh yeah - could it be that the order was placed using an echeck? Maybe oscommerce doesn't send an email until payment has CLEARED through PayPal? Echecks take a couple days.
♥Vger Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 If you want to get copies of 'completed' or 'pending' orders you need to enter an e-mail address as I advised you to. Vger
