Attribute Sets - display consistency

I'm doing a painting website, and having trouble getting the attribute set to show consistently in this order. Currently, whenever I add a new product and use the same attribute set, it's randomly shows the addtl. options (i.e. S,M,L, shows as M, L, S ; L, M, S, etc..).

So, it's actually showing up different for each product I load....how do I maintain consistency with this? At the very least, I need default to show up 1st everytime...
