cluboutfits Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 Hi, I think this layout is the keeper. I tried a poll but no one voted either way. I would like feedback and comments about the website. It is an adult lingerie and adult toy shop. My Webpage The layout has everything to the left. I am looking for comments on layout, colors, any problems that would make a person not complete an order, ease of usability, etc. It has been live for a while and i have not been getting as many orders as i would like. I am trying to figure out why that is. No test orders please.

ChrisW123 Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 I've never liked a pure black background. Instead, use a slightly lighter color. This gives the background "texture" instead of just a black abiss. Then make the boxes title bars one shade lighter then the background, and make the rest of the header bars the same color. Currently they are all the stock color. Make the header text (such as "What's in my Cart" off-black. Get rid of the roses and get a different picture for the upper left. Maybe a picture of a couple or something. Make the boxes on the left a little wider so that less of the items wrap to two lines. When you list the items in each category, they are currently just the descriptions. Would be nicer to have a picture also. For the "Adult Movies" category, get rid of the pictures you are using and show nicer pics of DVS's and VHS cassette tapes instead. Your information links: You have spelling mistakes and incorrect spacing, puncuation, grammer, and capitalization in a few areas. You shouldn't use Hotmail.com as your email, instead use your domain email. You need to use spacing between paragraphs (Privacy Notice). Links page is kind of weird. You should go straight to the links and not show the screen with a blank box. Skip that I think. I like the "Reciprocal Links" feature. But do you want to except links from anyone? Don't you want similar websites only? On a lot of screens (like Reciprocal Links) you have only a Continue button. But this is confusing if the user doesn't want to continue. You should have a Back button. Your site needs a more consistent and logical flow to it. Plus you should keep the Continue button on the right side (on your new customer screen it's on the left). Use the left side for the Back button. You should put the "Breadcrum" back in at the top of the screen. Make the text in the footer smaller. Some of the screens, since you removed the right hand boxes, it leaves an empty space on that side. I had this same problem. I think to get rid of the problem I made a new variable for the width (R_BOX_WIDTH) and then set it to 0 for the width. Well that's enough for now. :) Good luck!

'column_right.php'); ?> <!-- right_navigation_eof //--> <!-- </table></td> //--> Treasurer MFC
Lucky Bastard Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 I get a JavaScript error when I go to http://www.couplesshop.com/. Apart from that the site is nice and clean, but still fairly standard Osc my my liking. Also I would have to agree about the black background. Keep up the good work.

Top_Speed Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 My 2.5 cents... Add the "Header Tags Controller" meta tag generator, your titles and keywords will never be indexed by SE's and that's a big percentage of anyone's online hits. I'm not up on the adult purchase sites but yours looks nice to me :o Cheers, KJ define('PROJECTS', 'Something that goes on forever!');
