do I use ounces or pounds?

I am inputing all the weights of my items so that I can use the usps module to determine shipping by weight. But I am confused about what weight measurement to use. Usps uses pounds for there weight measurement, but what does oscommerce use?

When I input the weight in the products pages is is reading it in ounces or pounds? Almost all of my products are less than 1 pound, so for something that weighs 8 ounces would I input 0.8 or what?

osCommerce uses pounds. Use decimals for ounces. 16 ounces = 1 pound so 8 ounces = .5 pounds.
