abmieritz Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 I used the authorize admin by htaccess contribution. however, it only password protects the directory itself, not the contents. i.e. if you go to /catalog/admin/index.php, there is no password protection. How do I protect all the folder's contents? Quote

Guest Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 I just installed this contribution today and I'm having problems with it. Right now, I'm getting this error on admin/uthorize.php: Warning: fopen(/home/wagons/public_html/catalog/admin/groups): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/wagons/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/classes/htaccess.php on line 92 Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/wagons/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/classes/htaccess.php on line 93 The files are all correctly copied. I even set the admin/includes/classes/htaccess.php permissions to 777 and this still shows up. Even weirder, i was getting MORE errors before i copied over the "groups" and "passwd" files into /admin/. Once I uploaded the example files from the package, the warnings pertaining to those files disappeared. I also copied over the .htaccess into /admin but that just caused a server 500 error for me. Any suggestions????? THANKS!! Quote
Guest Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 (edited) OKAY, i've progressed a little with my problem. By making /admin/groups and /admin/passwd permissions both 777, i've eliminated all the warnings, except for when I change or add an Admin account. I get warnings pertaining to the .htaccess file when I do that. Also, it's still not creating a .htaccess file in the admin and when i copy over the included .htaccess file, i still get the internal server error 500. What do I have to do??? Your administrator may not have enabled CGI access for this directory. Whether that is a 500 error or now, my techy senses can't say... I'll give the hosting company a call tommorow & post back if any info they give is of any use to you. I just don't think they'll pick the phone up at 2am... Any help equals much appreciation & karma, from my little bag. Of karma. Yum. Quote
Guest Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 IMO, the following is an easier way to do it: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=122183&hl= Not necessarily better, but easier. Tell me what you think! If you like it, I'll release it as a contrib. I really think it's easier, but I've not looked at the other contrib for quite a while. -jared Quote
