redplanet Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Gentelmen, I have uploaded the Oscommerce program using Smart FTP to my ftp:// on Wed. I changed the name of the Admin file and added a htpasswd.php. Everything workded well. I was able to view the admin section and everthing in it. Later that evening I was anxious to activate my SSL and I did at Godaddy.com After that I no longer had access to my admin area. I am a hardware guy and could not figure out why this was happening. I deleted all the files in the FTP then reloaded everything, still no access. I called Godaddy several times, they have said that it is not an SSL issue that it may be that the files from Oscommerce or corrupt, also that it takes 24 - 72 for a dedicated site to be active. :( I really dont know what I should do. Should I re-install everything? Should I wait until the72 hours are complete? I am sorry if this sounds like a non-issue but I am new to Oscommerce, and need guidance. RedPlanet
♥Vger Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Try deleting the htpasswd file. My guess is that you should be able to get into the admin then. Once a site has been on the server for 72 hrs (max) then adding a dedicated ip address and ssl certifictae should not take the site down a all. Vger
redplanet Posted December 4, 2004 Author Posted December 4, 2004 I am sorry I was not clear. In the afternoon I did instal the htpasswd.php and everything worked well. In the evening after I set up the SSL it no longer worked. So I deleted everthing out of the database and FTP site. Then I instaled the Oscommerce web design just as is and did not try to modify anything but the admin folders name. This where I am now. No access. I am just not sure if it is a godaddy or oscommerce issue. Still Lost RedPlanet
