petersutton Posted December 4, 2004 Author Posted December 4, 2004 If you have got php5 installed then downgrade it to 4.3.9 and then try installing again. Vger <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Many thanks :D - have uninstalled PHP5 and installed 4.3.9. We now get past the blank screen but get the following error message. Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client. Seems a bit odd as I thought we had the latest version or am i missing something. According to MYSQL Admin client version is 5.0.0 Any Ideas?
♥Vger Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 Sounds as though you are trying to install with the ssl box ticked. If so, don't. You don't have an ssl facility on a local install. Vger
Mark Evans Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 There is an issue with PHP and Mysql 4.17 which means they dont work together. From php.net This MySQL extension doesn't support full functionality of MySQL versions greater than 4.1.0. For that, use MySQLi. Uninstall 4.1.7 and install any version before 4.1.0 Mark Evans osCommerce Monkey & Lead Guitarist for "Sparky + the Monkeys" (Album on sale in all good record shops) --------------------------------------- Software is like sex: It's better when it's free.
