vmetal76 Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 at least your tax shows up (albeit at 0). Mine isn't even displayed. Very pretty site by the way. Quote
pxzl8r Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 thanx! Just learning the CSS was an experience. it managed to come out fairly well I might say. But the real issue for me right now is the tax on orders originating in my state. I don't know if it's a config problem through admin variables or what. I'm trying to stay away from the writing my customers saying "well state tax was not figured in on the original purchase, can you send me 5 bucks more?" thing. Can anyone that has this working lend a hand? Quote
Guest Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Do you have your products marked as taxable? Is your shipping address in the same state that you have configured to collect taxes? -jared Quote
pxzl8r Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004  Yes I just did 80 products worth and now they are being taxed... oh well, live to learn. Thanx jcall Quote
Guest Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 If it makes you feel any better, I did the same thing. Since I had a couple of thousand products at that point, though, I just did a quick lookup on how to change them via the database directly. MUCH faster (if you get the SQL statement down perfectly) than editing them directly. I'm glad you only had 80. :) -jared Quote

Then set display tax rate to true.and also when you install a new product into your store make sure you set price to include tax. Quote ( WARNING ) I think I know what Im talking about. pxzl8r Posted December 15, 2004 Author Posted December 15, 2004 ok tax is now showing up all through the checkout. Great! But in the process, the site changed every retail price I had listed with the tax included. Ex. an item sells for a retail price 13.99. The price was set through the add product window and price was set accordingly. Now it shows up as 15.04. The site recognizes that I am from Ohio ( i'm not signed in as a customer, just browsing) and changes the prices. I performed a test customer from another state. The regular retail price shows up fine due to the fact that there isn't a tax set for that state. The tax only needs to be set up for those who are buying from Ohio and not shown in the viewing of the item or being added in before subtotal. What can I do to change the tax to let it show up only when a qualifying customer reaches the order total page and only after the subtotal? (I'm not asking for much am I? ) http://www.letitsnow.net Quote
