safire Posted December 2, 2004 Share Posted December 2, 2004 I finally got the install to work, and made my way to the admin panel.. I edited the store adding a few products then went to test what it looked like only to find that the catalog link just keeps refering me back to the install page! I have already installed and it was working, it's just that the store it'self will not show up. Does anyone know what the problem is? I wasn't doing anything out of the norm, just adding new products. Is there something I still have to edit before I get to see what my store looks like? also some additional questions, if anyone has any links where I could read up about this please let me know. How do I set up a SSL? and now that I have my store set up (without one) how do I let it know that I now have one? I noticed that the Admin panel does not have a log in or password required. How do I secure this log in page? I remember in the install directions that I was supposed to put the admin directory somewhere else rather than in the catalog folder. I was waiting to do this and just make sure things were working right before securing it. Can someone walk me through this process? Or better yet, direct me to some linkage with instructions. safire Posted December 2, 2004 Author Share Posted December 2, 2004 I deleted the install folder like you suggested, that stoped it from trying to install again, but revealed the source of that problem: Warning: Access denied for user: 'apache@localhost' (Using password: NO) in /home/httpd/vhosts/oregonliteracy.org/httpdocs/catalog/includes/functions/database.php on line 19 Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Access denied for user: 'apache@localhost' (Using password: NO) in /home/httpd/vhosts/oregonliteracy.org/httpdocs/catalog/includes/functions/database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server! it is unable to connect to the database server.. but when I installed before it said it was connected, and I have been writing information to the database as well by my changes to the admin area, like adding new products... so is it connected or no? what do I do?
