Rutto Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Hello everybody, I'm a new user of OSCommerce and I like it a lot ! :D I'm going to create a shop for motorbike's products. I would like my user to surf the shop or selecting a category (Example: Brakes, Tyres, ecc...) or first selecting the motorbike model they have and this act as a filter on all products and they only see the products compatible with the motorbike they choose. Sample of standard surfing: Category 1: Product A (Compatible with bike ALPHA) Product B (Compatible with bike BETA) Product C (Compatible with ALPHA and BETA) Product D (Compatible with all bikes) Sample of the Shop after the user filtered his bike model (ALPHA): Category 1: Product A (Compatible with bike ALPHA) Product C (Compatible with ALPHA and BETA) Product D (Compatible with all bikes) Is it possible ? If not do you see another good method to organize the shop ? That's a key feature to suit my needs. Thanks in advice, Simone
Guest Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Hmmmm.... I don't know if there's a contrib for this, but you might be able to do this by using the search feature. If all brake components that work for Norton Commandos say "Norton Commando" then you should be able to search for either "Norton" or "Commando" or both, and get the brakes. You should be able to craft up a page where you can select different types of bikes, and then in the background do a product search for the model name. Not sure if there is a better way presently available. That idea isn't that graceful, would work, but not very graceful. -jared
