micknc Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 I haven't changed anything in weeks but all of the sudden I get this error today. Warning: mysql_connect(): Too many connections in /home/ncfarmsi/public_html/store/includes/functions/database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server! It has my whole site down. Anybody know why?

micknc Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 I emailed them earlier but usually it gets fixed faster through this board. Is this something that they have to fix?
Rutto Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 That's happen to me too but with other software... to me this is not related to osCommerce but to MySQL configuration/limitations on amount of simultaneous acces to the database. If you'll retray within 10 minuts you'll probably see it back working. ;)
3psilon Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Try refreshing the page once. It sounds like you simply had too many connections to the database at the same time. Are you using a shared database on your hosting account? That causes this problem quite frequently.
micknc Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 No we are on our system. I have tried a couple times today with no luck but I will keep trying it.
♥yesudo Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 if it is your system - increase the limit for simultaneous connections. Your online success is Paramount.
micknc Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 Well we are hosted but it is a dedicated host (from what I understand). It has had the error for about an hour so I don't think it is just going to go away. Is there a way to raise this limit from my side or does the host have to do it?
♥yesudo Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 host will need to do it. Your online success is Paramount.
