Moving catalog to root directory

As your "subject" line states......

Move all the files/folders from catalog to your root.

Then modify your includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php files to remove all references to "catalog".

Could you explain this more detailed, i am a newbie, thank you  B)

All the files that are in the catalog folder need to be moved up one level so that they are directly in your www folder. Then you have to edit your two configure.php files removing catalog from the path.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

I recently tried to this and my new admin page doesn't require a login and password to access it.... a big big problem anyone have any thoughts to why it doesn't work in the new directory even though it works great in the old dir?? Please help.... :'(

well because it is now in a different directory level.

A level you need to protect.

The folder you previously protected was catalog/admin

Now you have moved your site into the root directory, catalog/admin does not exist and is not protected. You now need to go back to your web hosting control panel, find the 'admin' directory and protect that.
