coris_l Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Hello, im coming close to finishing setting a store using the latest version of OSC. The store will be selling items to the UK only. I noticed during the creation of dummy customers that if somebody selects their country of residence to be anything other than the UK, then TAX is not added to the product prices. How is this solved so that the prices always show the included UK VAT rate? My guess is that i have to either delete all other countries or add them and assign TAX of 17.5%. Am i missing something really obvious? Please excuse me if i have. Surely there must be a quicker way? thank you Coris.
iwik Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I'm not sure if it works the same way there, but here in Aus, we have 10% GST added onto all our products by law - similar to a tax. But, if you are selling products to an international customer, the GST is not charged. I think it's the same with certain states of the USA also; when selling within the state a certain tax is applied, customers outside that area don't attract the tax on the products. Can someone else verify this?
