katrash
You can do this by creating a password file and an ".htaccess" file. You can find complete instructions at: http://www.rahul.net/howto/basicauth.html
♥Vger
Look in your web hosting control panel to see if they have a Password Protect or Directory Protection function. If it's there then use that. Vger Is it possible to protect the admin pages with a password? I could not find an option to turn this on or off :-). Relax
CPanel did it for me :-) Thanks for all your answers!! Maybe a stupid question from a newbe, but is osCommerce another 'language' than phpBB? It might be nice to let both learn from each other! In phpBB it is very easy to protect the admin pages. phpBB depends on permissions or rights a person has. Some links are only available for admins. For me all those scripts are allmost impossible to understand. I can only delete things in templates ;-). Greatings from Holland!
♥Vger
phpBB and osCommerce are both php, but phpBB relies on a template structure, where you can simply activate or inactivate not just modules but page content as well - and you can update page content on the fly. I believe there is a phpBB plug-in for osCommerce also. Vger
