Shipping Module Install button madness

Recommended Posts

I am trying to configure the Canada Post shipping module 3.7 and I believe everything is ok. When I press the INSTALL button on my Admin/modules/shipping screen, the box flashes briefly but the INSTALL button returns when I would expect to see it replaced by an edit and remove button.

But wait - there's more! <_<

If I click on the Canada Post module title, the rhs edit box appear with all the fields editable. I can enter in my CP ID, check the IP address, port , blah blah blah. When I select the update button - it all disappears and I am back to the INSTALL button again.

Repeating the action of clicking on the module title reveals that the changes I make are being saved however.

This module isn't working for me and I am trying to troubleshoot. I do not know if this is a contributor to my issues. I will post a request for the module help in the contributions forum.

I am new to this and have learned a great deal by using the knowledge base and the search functions. In the past 45 days I have come a long way but this one has me stumped.

Any help on the install button bug would be great.

Thanks for the quick reply Vger. The button issue is definitely just with the CP module - the other shipping modules on the config screen behave as expected.

I think the issue isn't with the contribution however. I just wonder if I messed up a file doing all the cutting and pasting outlined in the install.txt that came with the module. In hindsight I think it was uneccessary for the install and may be the root of my problem.

I am going to see if I can find out which file dictates the behaviour of the admin/modules/shipping configuration screen. If it turned out to be one of the files I manked around with then that is a good place to start looking.

Any other ideas out there?

thanks again -

jon
