Guest
Can someone please tell me what this is. It says in my admin, my store, search engine safe URL's (under development.....) what is this and what should it be set to? It is False now, but have never changed because of not knowing what it does. Thanks. James
Guest
James, Turning this on changes your product URLs from: http://yourdomain.com/catalog/product_info...products_id=385 to something like: http://yourdomain.com/catalog/product_info...products_id/385 The idea is that Search engines don't like the use of ? to pass values to the product_info.php (or any thoer) page. I believe that it is marked under development because it doesn't always work. One store I had running on a Windows server stopped working when I turned this on. It seems to work fine now that I've moved the store to a Linux server. ed

So leave it off?
Guest
James, The general consensus on the forums is don't use it. Most SEs have no problems with the ?s. ed
