how do I change <base href> ?

When I installed osCommerce I tried to put it in the root directory so I could access it via sote.mydomain.com withour a directory. It seemed to install ok and everything I've seen so far works except for some images don't display in the admin area. Basically I've noticed that the following line need to be changed.

<base href="http://register.twoballgolf.com//"> (note the trailing double slash)

I looked in the config file and saw that the cookie paths also have two trailing slashes?

I'm very new to this product so I'd like to know 2 things

1) Is there a trick to installing in the "root" rather than into a directory?

2) Can I fix the problem via the config file. Or are there other problems I'll run into later?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, first of all it looks like it's in a subdomain and not in the root directory of your website. If it was in the root it would be http://www.yourdomain.com

With regard to the double slashes it looks like you have them in your two configure.php files, so sorting them out should resolve your problem. I'm guessing that you have your domain down as http://www.yourdomain.com/ (note the slash at the end) and that your path to catalog is '/' This will give you the double slash, so remove the one at the end of your domain name. If it's just that you have two forward slashes down for your cookie path then remove one of them.
