Guest Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 I have just found out that my hosting company (lycos.co.uk) do not support ssl, even though I have their advanced hosting package. I am going to buy an ssl from Comodo InstantSSL, can anyone recommend a good host that supports this in the UK. Thanks
♥Vger Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 It really depends upon whether or not Comodo are listed in the users browser root certification store as a trusted provider of sll - if they're not in that store then the user will get a message that the issuing authority is not to be trusted - which makes the cert a waste of time. Th ereason I say this is that Comod have not been around for that long, and older browsers may not have them listed. I'd recommend GeoTrust Express SSL Cert. The prices I've seen for Comodo, issued by InstantSSL, come in with Comodo at $59.5 a year, with Geotrust at $49 a year. Hope this helps - Vger
Guest Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Yes, I know that, :-" I am doing that, what I was asking was someone to recommend one that they have had a good experience with.
Guest Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Forum rules prohibit advertising of hosts. Sorry. I'm not in the UK, but I know that a few forum members here are. You might have better luck contacting them directly. Dunno. -jared
