Increasing field size

Hi,

 

I think OSC is fantastic and so versatile. I have a general question regarding field size.

 

I integrated the Multi-Zone Shipping contrib and I need increase the shipping tables. The contrib uses the configuration_value field of the configuration table to store the data.

 

I changed the type from varchar to text. Everything still seems to be working correctly but will this cause any problems for me down the road?
