Gzip Backup missing

Recommended Posts

I moved to a dedicated server running RedHat ES with Cpanel with virtually all mods configured for Apache / PHP but Gzip is not an option when I backup in OSC.

I have Gzip in phpMyAdmin and Gzip compression works with the web files and I have it set to Level 5.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I didn't see it before posting my help request.

I traced the problem to the default directory structure in admin/includes/application_top.php.

//define('LOCAL_EXE_GZIP', '/usr/bin/gzip');

define('LOCAL_EXE_GZIP', '/bin/gzip');

//define('LOCAL_EXE_GUNZIP', '/usr/bin/gunzip');

define('LOCAL_EXE_GUNZIP', '/bin/gunzip');

You can see above the changes I made to suit the layout that the "problem" server gave. Basically the usr directory wasn't in the path to gzip so I removed it.

You will need to find out what your server path to gzip is and modify to suit.

Dave.
