Remove all countires/states except for US

I am building my company a online store and we will only do business within the United States and have no plans to do international saleing... Is there a contribution or something that will let me easily delete all countries except for united states and one that deletes all states except for the 50 united states... Thanks in advance! <_<

I had this problem, except I wanted a UK-only site.

 

The only way to fix it is to hack the code - as it stands, it is simply not written in a way that easily lets you select this in a nice way.

 

You will have to do this in a couple of places though - account registration, delivery address entry / editing, etc.

 

It's even worse for non-US users because the address format is US-specific. I had to swap round the post code / county / city address fields because they are completely wrong for the UK (and most of the rest of the world !). Also, some of the fields are compulsory by default and not selectable via the admin setup. Again, the only way to fix these problems is to hack the code. I find the 'Gender' field particularly stupid - a 'title' text field is much better, but again, you need to hack the code (and the database) to accommodate this.

 

I seem to remember this all took me quite some time to get right - there are interdependencies and error checks that need to be taken into account.

 

I have not looked but I very much doubt there is a contribution for this because of the country / user specific nature of the problem.

 

I hope this gets addressed in later versions of OSC - there really needs to be a much simpler and comprehensive way to set up the address fields as required for each user / country.

My store is fairly new but I wanted to delete certain countries like Nigeria from the list. For me, it's in the Admin section under "Locations/Taxes" If you have that, you can then edit/remove each country that you don't want. Hope that works for you!

delete them all via phpmyadmin - then put usa back in - or this contrib may help:
