gnoar Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Has anybody had any luck getting osCommerce to work on Fedora Core 3? I'm having little luck. My configuration: MySql ver 4.17, PHP 4.3.9 I tried the web based install and got a good connection test to the database, but on the last step I get the message about chmod 706 configure.php. I've tried permissions at 706, 777, 644 and still no luck. So...I've manually installed the tables into the database and I see the tables when I do mysql show osCommerce. I manually edited the configure.php (yes, in both places) with my database connection info. Now when I try going to http://mysite/catalog and instead of being redirected to the install page, now I just get a blank page. Does osCommerce work with Fedora Core 3?
gnoar Posted November 24, 2004 Author Posted November 24, 2004 No replies, so I guess I'll try Fedora Core 2. Gary
Guest Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 osC is os-agnostic. It simply doesn't care. All it wants is an httpd daemon, mySQL running, and PHP 4.x It should work. People even run it on IIS (though that's a completely different set of conversations . . .) -jared
gnoar Posted November 29, 2004 Author Posted November 29, 2004 Thanks Jared, Core 3 is using SELinux (security enhanced linux). My guess is there are special set up requirements needed. I was just wondering if anyone had worked through them yet. Gary
