bette Posted November 23, 2004 Author Posted November 23, 2004 I can try again but basically what I'd like to know is --- Is there a good tutorial that says what each feature of osCommerce is -- how you actually use it -- step1 then step2 etc especially if there is something principally pretaining to Powweb using osCommerce for the shopping cart --- Back to the Dummies version You know the version for someone totally ignorant.

Guest Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Bette, What do you see when you go to www.yourdomain.com/catalog or www.yourdomain.com/catalog/admin? ed
bette Posted November 23, 2004 Author Posted November 23, 2004 yes I do see that I've created my webpages using front page now I would like to add the oscommerce shopping cart Is this possible
Guest Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Bette, osCommerce is not like some other Shooping Carts. It doesn't give you a script with a "Buy Now" button to insert into an already made web page. It provides the web pages, database, and software for the catalog, shopping cart, shipping, payment processing, customer reviews, etc. Most people install osCommerce and then modify the code (HTML embedded in PHP files and the CSS file) to change the default appearance of the site. There's a contribution called Simple Template System that allows you to define an HTML file that is used as a template for the site. Many people use that and like it. I suggest you go to the Contribution Support forum and read up on it. ed
