josephkola Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 First thanks to those who help me getting one glitch, sending mail period, fixed. Now the next issue... If I send mail to myself at an address from my domain example: [email protected] I can recieve that email just fine using my email client (Entourage) But, If I send it to myself at an address outside my domain example: [email protected] No luck, I never get the email. (again using Entourage) I've got some calls in with friends with other ISP's to check if it is only my verizon.net address (which is working fine otherwise) or if it is any address outside my domain. Haven't heard back yet, thus the posting here Anybody encounter this before? I'm using Linux Server, Mac os9, verizon ISP, and ixwebhosting. Any guidance is greatly appreciated, I starting to think about going back to building sites with just html and really do not want to do that. :'(
josephkola Posted November 20, 2004 Author Posted November 20, 2004 Email are turning up in friend's email boxes. I think that this isolates the problem to verizon.net as the ISP or directly to my verizon settings right? Ugh, HELP!
user99999999 Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Try checking you server ip at spamcop and see if it has any blocks. http://www.spamcop.net/bl.shtml
josephkola Posted November 20, 2004 Author Posted November 20, 2004 Thanks for your reply, I checked the IP for my site (dedicated),plus the IP's of the domain name servers, none are listed. Is this something I have to start hitting the verizon.net tech support with? Joseph
Guest Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 they may require smtp authentication, there is a contribution for that
josephkola Posted November 21, 2004 Author Posted November 21, 2004 John, my verizon.net address works fine other than getting email sent from the admin section of oscommerce. It is the accout I've used for a few years now. I'm not sure where I would need authentication from SMTP. Joseph
