Dennis99 Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Dashes are accepted in URL's but is it a good idea? Has anyone done it in a domain name and had problems from it? Thx
1quicksi Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 If a dash is accepted as a valid domain name attribute, then your question really is one of personal opinion. knowledge base | Contributions | Search
Guest Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Dashes are valid DNS characters. The limitations for DNS names are not the same the limitations for path/file names. For example, the following URL is valid: http://www.somedomain.com/search?something+interesting But neither ? nor + are valid in the DNS name. -jared
