bglkk Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Hi Clifton, are you lurking about? :) We're currently investigating the LinkShield fraud protection service from LinkPoint. (From lack of search results, it seems that nobody else around here is using LinkShield--not a good sign...) Anyway, the LinkPoint API includes a php code sample for preauthorization and postauthorization--just curious what it would take to incorporate into the Linkpoint contribution, and whether it would be worth the trouble. Automating use of LinkShield scores for your store: "Run a PREAUTH transaction, get the LinkShield risk score, compare it against the level of risk you are willing to take. If the value is less than the threshold (the maximum fraud risk score you've chosen for your store), then run the POSTAUTH transaction. If the value is higher than the threshold, there are several ways you can handle this: * You can choose not to accept the transaction. * You can seek an alternate form of payment. * You can choose to manually review these transactions, then run manual POSTAUTHs if the level of risk is determined to be acceptable." We're don't even have LinkShield yet through Linkpoint Central, so this is still highly theoretical. Quote "Buy the ticket, take the ride..." -HST
scottrobinson Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 The Linkpoint LinkShield fraud protection service is in beta right now. They've got several of their merchants testing it out (none of which are on OsCommerce, but should be). If an OsCommerce developer wants to incorporate this, they should probably contact [email protected], and tell them they're interested. Theres no real information on it from Linkpoint yet, just what you've said below. Gotta say, Linkpoint doesn't make it easy to figure out what's going on... Quote "Buy the ticket, take the ride..." -HST
