Authorize net not working anymore?

I am getting an error when I try to process orders, it says "There has been an error connecting to Authorize.net."

on a blank white page, it happens at the checkout_process.php page. I have been processing cards for a while without any problems, and suddenly something has changed, I have contacted Authorize net and they claim nothing on their end has changed, anyone else getting this kind of response or if anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.
