Guest Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Hello, I tried to add the pollbooth contrib, didn't like the way it was going and decided to remove it. I removed all the changes I made to the various files as well as the tables added to the database. When I go to my catalog this is what I get: " Warning: main(DIR_WS_LANGUAGES/FILENAME_DEFAULT): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/bestbuyw/public_html/catalog/index.php on line 35 Warning: main(DIR_WS_LANGUAGES/FILENAME_DEFAULT): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/bestbuyw/public_html/catalog/index.php on line 35 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'DIR_WS_LANGUAGES/FILENAME_DEFAULT' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/bestbuyw/public_html/catalog/index.php on line 35 " Can someone please help? I'm not sure what file it's looking for and as far as I know I haven't deleted anything? My store is currently down because of this problem so any help asap is greatly appreciated! Thanks
ozcsys Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 It is looking for you index.php file in your includes/languages/english (or what lang your are using) folder and cannot find it. I have seen a lot of posts in the last week or so where someone installed a contribution or made some changes and killed a live site. Some thoughts 1. BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP 2. You should have a secondary site to test changes on, this can be on your local machine or in a seperate folder on your server or both but you should never make changes to a live site without testing them first. 3. Did I mention BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP?? The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
Guest Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 I agree, Installing a contrib without backing up was bad judgement. This was a pre-coffee decision made this morning. Definately learned my lesson. But, as far as the problem is concerned - I have an index.php in my includes/languages/english folder. I even tried to use the original index.php file that I had backed up in the folder to no avail. Any other ideas why the error may being caused?
Guest Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 thanks ozcsys, I fixed the error by re-downloading the latest version of STS and over-writing the old catalog/index.php with a fresh copy. Seems to have done the trick. Weird, considering I didn't edit the file. Anyway thanks for your suggestion and I will in the future make sure to work with either backups or a staging server.
