I am trying to run that online installation tool on my localhost so that I can do some development and testing. So far it gets stuck on rendering the page after you input all the db info. Once I enter that info and click next and just shows half of the page and I cant get past that. I am guessing there is some error...but i cant actually see what it is...bc it doesnt get rendered. Is there a way to manually configure (i have configured the configure.php's as well) and not have the index.php redirect me to the install.php?

I too have encountered this exact problem on a 'brand new' machine:

Mandrake 9.1 w/ full patches

Apache-AdvancedExtranetServer/2.0.47 (Mandrake Linux/6.9.92mdk) mod_perl/1.99_09 Perl/v5.8.1 mod_ssl/2.0.47 OpenSSL/0.9.7b PHP/4.3.2

AMD XP processor

Don't yet know how/why...

You are not alone!

that has been experienced with php5.

although i see one listed here with 4.3.2, which is way too old, you should use 4.3.9
