Main Index Page

Hi,

Been setting up my storefront and reading a lot. So far it has been going great. Is there any way to call a HTML page to replace the default text in the index.php page?

I know you can change it in a text editor, but was wondering if one could design an HTML page to place there instead with pics, etc.

Thanks

In includes/languages/english/index.php

define('TEXT_MAIN', '******');

Where you see the stars build an html page as you normally would do. Just remember to 'escape' all apostrophies with a backslash, as in

Let's = Wrong

Let\'s = Right

And don't use the osCommerce File Manager, use a plain text editor like NotePad or TextPad.

do you know how i can add a backround image to any text i place in the ....english/index.php file, without trying to use a table.

i tried the only way i could with table, but it duplicates the image, yet i made the table narrow?
