Specials page slows down entire catalog - help!

Hiyas,

Im having some problems when uploading specials. If I upload 300 or more items on special the catalog becomes extremely slow and unresponsive. I only noticed this problem since our number of products became quite large. Our store now has over 10,000 products with about 5000 in stock at any given time.

Im sure this topic has been discussed here before however the backward search engine on this forum didn't help me find anything.

Please help.

Cheers,

Jeremy

isn't this covered yet in chemo's superb performance optimilization case in action ?

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON

I do not use the responsive bootstrap version since i coded my responsive version earlier, but i have bought every 28d of code package to support burts effort and keep this forum alive (albeit more like on life support).

So if you are still here ? What are you waiting for ?!

Find the most frequent unique errors to fix:

grep "PHP" php_error_log.txt | sed "s/^.* PHP/PHP/g" |grep "line" |sort | uniq -c | sort -r > counterrors.txt

You give me too much credit...thank you :-"

I'd like to see where the problem is as well. If we just added some debug code we could pinpoint the offending query within a few minutes. It would take longer to install the debug code than to actually...well...debug the code

Hi Chemo,

I appreciate your reply! I would love it if you could help me debug the code and pinpoint where the bottle neck is. Just let me know how we should proceed.

Regards,

Jeremy
