westkoast Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 v.01 of this store was my first OSC project ever. We used a pre-MS version of OSC and I must say it was a learning experience. However, the learning that was done was invaluable and I'll pull for OSC over any other cart... any day. It was time to update to MS2.2, so here is V.02! C&C always welcome. The only thing I havn't fully decided on is whether to keep the default osc borders on the checkout process. http://www.fortunetees.com/shop I need to read the rules more often...
burt Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Somewhere you have a bug (likely a hard coded link). I added a bunch of stuff to the cart, then clicked around a few of your links to look at other pages. I then clicked "shopping cart" and the cart was empty :( Nice site design. Well done on that.

Well done on that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't reproduce the error. One problem I did have when using the tep_href function is that you cannot add a PHP extension in the link or the wrap of ?oscID= will get destroyed. I'll play around with it some more... I'm still working on making the babies, maternity, and womens pages completly dynamic as the product_info page is. I need to read the rules more often...
moonlitsun Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Tight website. Quite unique. Excellent use of product graphics. Interesting "non-product description" approach. Original! That counts for 10 points alone. Thx Carpe Carp: Seize the Fish.
BearHappy Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 VERY NICE! You are certainly catering to your market. I agree with Codi, excellent use of images to sell your product.
Guest Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 WoW I truely love your site! It's absolutely perfect for what you're doing.. I didn't see any errors, nor could I reproduce the one mentioned earlier in the post.. I do think you did an amazing job though :) Beautiful!
Guest Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Nice layout! Very nice. I noticed that one of the gallery images is *really* large, though. It's the one marked as "Georgia" under Women. -jared
Guest Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Nice site, the only thing I noticed was "We do NOT share or sell personal information about our online visitors to ANY third party." Then how does the shipping company know where to deliver the package????? I knew I would find one here. :P
eddyb Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Hi there i really like the layout of the site. Musta took some work juggling osc round to that sorta layout v.nice. However one very small nitpick. Im on a high res 1152*864. If it wernt for the line breaks at the bottom of your index page into wouldnt have a fold/vert scroll which would be nice. However as i said just a very small "nitpick" as i doubt many people are coming to your site with such a high res. Green Template - My little addition to the community... :)

When I modified the admin tool so that the gallery and press pages were dynamic I told them the images needed to be 72dpi... no one ever listens to me  Nice site, the only thing I noticed was "We do NOT share or sell personal information about our online visitors to ANY third party." I need to read the rules more often...
Guest Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 Apparently Peter appreciates the finer things in life. Ok, so maybe that deserves a 1/4 chuckle. Probably no more than that, though. :) -jared
westkoast Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 Has anyone in their time on OSC come across any _REALLY_ good ways to handle stock? I wrote my own stock area where they can just click which products/size/style are avaiable, but I'd like to make it more dyanmic... I need to read the rules more often...
chooch Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 very good site... the fact that it doesn't look like an oscommerce template is a testament to the designer. lots of good work on the layout columns, i must say it seems very unique for an oscommerce developed site. well done! Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back! Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you? There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere. CHOOCH

The designs I work with are never designed to be osCommerce stores, I just like to use osCommerce as the base cart. I make the cart work with the design; instead of making the design work with the cart. I need to read the rules more often...
ChrisW123 Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 I haven't had time to read the comments, but three suggestions: 1) I'd like to be able to get to the HOME screen easier without having to click the logo, etc. Put a "Home" button somewhere. 2) The three "tabs" at the top (Baby & Kids, Maternity, and Womens Tees) seem to be your "categories". But "Baby & Kids" is always red making it look like it's always selected. Instead, when you select one of the other tabs make that tab turn red so it's clear you on that tab. 3) Make the dark brown color (top and bottom) just a shade darker to give a little more contrast. This will also make the white text stand out more. Not too much darker, just a shade. Great site, you've done an excellent job!!

The tabs in red will make it a lot clearer, thanks for the suggestions. I need to read the rules more often...
