Ouch, This brings up a question I have been wondering about.

When I go into my webstats pages I see something kinda weird.

a referer to my site (just my main page, which is an html job, and has actually been changed) has an exact copy of my page on their site...does anyone know why this would be, or what is going on?

My site is

www.mutzigcreations.com (the catalog will be located at www.mutzigcreations.com/catalog but isn't ready yet to go live)

Their site is

http://phuonghoanglua.com

and

http://www.phuonghoang.com

Any help or information on this would be great, Thank you

RavenWulf

I don't know who these people are, but I know they are using carts designed and hosted by others as "references" as an enticement to lease osCommerce carts from them.

RavenWulf,

I would be contacting Tucows ASAP. A whois on your domain returns your registration info (Mutzig Creations). A whois on phuonghoanglua.com

returns the following:

phuonghoanglua.com

Domain names in the .com and .net domains can now be registered

with many different competing registrars. Go to http://www.internic.net

for detailed information.

Domain Name: PHUONGHOANGLUA.COM

Registrar: TUCOWS INC.

Whois Server: whois.opensrs.net

Referral URL: http://domainhelp.tucows.com

Name Server: NS2.DYNAMICNAME.COM

Name Server: NS1.DYNAMICNAME.COM

Status: ACTIVE

Updated Date: 19-dec-2003

Creation Date: 18-dec-2003

Expiration Date: 18-dec-2004

>>> Last update of whois database: Thu, 11 Nov 2004 19:02:45 EST <<<

Yes, this is really odd. If you load http://phuonghoanglua.com/ then you see your html homepage - which has obviously been embedded into their homepage (so they are stealing bandiwdth from you). But usually when someone does this they replace your contact details with theirs, but they haven't done this - weird. Still, whichever way you look at it it's bandwidth theft.

It's even more odd that http://www.phuonghoang.com/ shows the GoDaddy 'Domain For Sale' page. The contact e-mail for the domain is [email protected]. You may want to get in touch with them!

i wouldnt wory about it.

it is not a copy of your home page, it is your home page.

both domain names point to the same IP address (216.193.194.190)

you can verify it by renaming your main page from "index.html" (i suppose) to

"realpage.html", and place an index.php file such as:

<?php
  header("location:http://www.mutzigcreations.com/realpage.html");
?>

when you'll go to http://www.phuonghoang.com, you will find yourself in www.mutzigcreations.com.

in effect, you got an additional name for your site, for free......
