Banner problem

I cannot display banners in my shop.

 

I create my banner with the banner manager but i don't know how i can state the position of the shop where it will show.

 

What do i do wrong?

Which is the default banner directory?

Which is the graphs directory?

To which directories do i have to change permissions to 777?

What are banner groups?
