Parse error on privacy.php

Hi,

I am getting this error when I click on the privacy notice link:

 

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/john/public_html/includes/languages/english/privacy.php on line 16

 

this is how the privacy php looks:

what did i do wrong? thanks in advance for your help :)

You put the word "don't" in there. It has an apostrophe in it. PHP treats apostrophes as delimiters. If you put a backslash ( \ ) in front of it, i.e. don\'t, it will work.

I didn't at first either. I have had that exact error enough times that I've trained myself to read my stupid paragraph over and over and over until I find it.

 

Hopefully you won't keep making this error every few weeks like I do.
